Cloud services and computing power
Microsoft’s investment in cloud services and computing power in Poland worth USD 700 million until the summer of 2026, will be used primarily for cyber security in cooperation with the Polish armed forces – said Microsoft’s vice president Brad Smith after meeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
During the joint press conference, Smith announced on Monday that his company’s investments in Poland will amount to $ 700 million and this is a continuation of the company’s previous investments.
“We announce a new phase – investments in the amount of $ 700 million (…), which will be implemented from today to the summer of 2026” – he said. He reminded that Microsoft invested $ 1 billion in 2020, creating the so -called Cloud region in Poland. Work in this area was completed in 2023. The investments announced on Monday – as he explained – is the second phase, which is to increase the computing power in Poland and in this part of Europe.
Brad Smith indicated that this power should be used above “everyone to increase cyber security in cooperation with the Polish Armed Forces “.
