Former Jorge Enrique Robledo, leader of the dignity and commitment party, questioned the appointment of Diana Morales, Diana Morales, current secretary of the Fourth Commission of the House of Representatives, as new Minister of Commerce and Industry.
In an interview with the Week Debate, Robledo said that, with the designation of the new minister, the government of President Petro would receive the support of several liberal senators for the vote, which will take place in the next few days, in which the Senate will decide if it gives the green light to the popular consultation.
“There is one thing that disturbs me, how so Petro is preparing to appoint a liberal minister of commerce to buy some votes of a few liberal senators for consultation, That is a shame resorting to those tactics, that cannot be accepted at all, ”he said.
“That appointment of the Minister of Commerce is to see how they buy 8, 9 votes for this vote that is coming. It is a shame and that there are liberal senators that lend them to that, it seems more shameless,” he said.
Given this, Robledo asked President Petro to “Respect the congressmen”.
“President Petro, respect the congressmen, respect the free will, to vote freely, and do not press with positions and contracts. It is unacceptable,” he said.
On the other hand, Robledo also stated that, if he shows that there was corruption in the process of pension reform, it must be cast back.
This after the complaints against the congressmen Iván Name and Andrés Calle, former presidents of the Senate and the House of Representatives, who allegedly would have received money from the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) to facilitate the approval of the projects promoted by the Government.
“I am not a lawyer, but if the pension reform was approved with corruption, buying congressmen, disable that choice, illegalizes it. Thus, the Constitutional Court should declare it, ”said the former senator on the rule, who is currently in the study of the High Court.
“How is the thing, then here to approve laws you have to go out to buy congressmen? Unacceptable. All of that is under discussion, but if that ends up, it must lead to the law to be backwards, “said Robledo, who questioned the norm and assured that he reduced young people to the right to the pension.
“The day they are pensioned, they will see how much Petro cut them with that pension reform, approved by his partners,” he told the young people.
