“The government was very upset and it was obvious to the president, who dedicated an entire bridge to me through the social network. There are so many good things to do on a bridge and he dedicates himself to poisoning the soul,” said the mayor of Medellín during the interview with . “He sometimes wakes up thinking about me, he dedicates I don’t know how many Twitter posts to me (sic),” added the mayor of Medellín.

“If Antioquia resists, Colombia will be saved, and we will continue to resist; I will continue to insist on projects, we will continue to give our opinions,” added Gutiérrez, pointing out that “the ISA case is very delicate… Most of those who stole from Medellín are in high positions at the national level, they chose corruption as a form of government. The country has to know what can happen to ISA.”

“It left EPM underfunded by five billion pesos for these four years for strategic projectsthere are serious allegations of corruption surrounding what they did with Afinia and they would have agreed on eight million dollars with the former mayor and a corrupt former politician from Bello where the witness told me how that happened,” said Gutiérrez.

“Eight million to change the manager at Afinia so that they would have another person to manage the contracts, as the witness reported. And why does the witness know this? Because he was the one who set up this whole plot, this corrupt network. And why did he report it? Because they brought him down,” he added.

In these contexts of conflict, Gutiérrez invited President Petro to work hand in hand with the mayors and governors of the country so that the goals of the National Development Plan can be met more easily. “If they don’t want to help, they shouldn’t put a spanner in the works. And there are people who say that there are people who ‘neither cut nor lend an axe’. I would even give a message to the national government. We are under attack here all day long: Antioquia and Medellín are under attack by the national government. I would say to President Gustavo Petro: Listen, don’t you think, Mr. President, that it is easier to meet the goals of the National Development Plan with the mayors and governors than to spend all day fighting and looking for trouble,” said Gutiérrez.
