From mBank to Pekao

As reported, the Commission unanimously consented to the appointment of Stypułkowski as the president of Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (Pekao – PAP) with its registered office in Warsaw. In July this year Pekao’s supervisory board appointed Cezary Stypułkowski as president of the management board from October 5, subject to the consent of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

Cezary Stypułkowski was previously the president of mBank; July 4 this year he resigned from this position and from his position on the management board. Stypułkowski was the head of mBank from 2010.

Who is Cezary Stypułkowski?

As reported on the bank’s website, in 2006-2010 Stypułkowski worked in JP Morgan in London, where from 2007 he was the managing director of the JP Morgan investment bank for Central and Eastern Europe. In the years 2003-2006 he served as president of the management board PZU Group, and in the years 1991-2003 he headed the management board Bank Handlowy SA in Warsaw. He was a member of the board’s international advisory board Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan European Board of Advisorsan international advisory board INSEAD and a member of the Geneva Association.

He is a doctor of law from the University of Warsaw. In the late 1980s as Fulbright scholarship recipient studied at the Business School of Columbia University in New York.
