Company Central Communication Port (CPK) was established to prepare and implement the multi-annual Central Communication Port Program, including, among others: construction new central airport for Poland and accompanying investments – including railway lines, expressways and highways.
“It is currently ongoing in the CPK company internal audit run by the company and by Office of the Plenipotentiary for CPK and tenders for external auditors are being carried out,” PAP was informed.
As added, internal audit verifies documents, contracts and reports provided by the company.
“Already after the analysis of the first documents, one can see (…) the wastefulness of public funds. In 2023 alone, the former three-person management board received as many as PLN 746,000, while a year earlier, the then four-person management board received PLN 730,000. The annual awards were granted even though the investments The CPK did not enter the implementation phase. In total, the management board cost the company PLN 11 million,” the company said. She added that this concerns the remuneration of the management board from the beginning of the company's establishment.
The information stated that the company employs 750 people and a total of PLN 286 million was spent on their salaries, and last year it was PLN 120 million.
The Central Communication Port is a planned transfer hub between Warsaw and Łódź, which is to integrate air, rail and road transport. As part of this project, 37 km west of Warsaw, in an area of approx. 3 thousand hectares, an airport is to be built. The CPK will also include railway investments: a junction at the airport and connections throughout the country, which will enable travel between Warsaw and the largest Polish cities in no longer than 2.5 hours.
