Where can you shop on Sunday? What places are not covered by the trade ban?

Luc Williams

Shopping malls and larger stores (supermarkets and discount stores) are closed March 3, 2024 because of trading ban on Sundays.

March 3 – where can you shop?

On non-trading Sundays (such as March 3), they are available for customers who want to shop some shopping outlets.

Today they are open, among others: franchisee stores. They may also be open that day some small local shops (where the sale is conducted by the owner).

The Sunday trading ban also does not apply to: gas stations, shops at stations and airports, catering outlets and flower shop.

The opening hours of the mentioned places may be different on that day (than usual) – it is worth checking this information directly at a specific point.

In addition to places that may be open on non-trading Sundays, in some cities you can also take advantage of the online shopping offer and order groceries with delivery to your address.

Shopping Sundays – when is the next one?

In Poland, according to the Act on restricting trade on Sundays, holidays and other days (which entered into force on March 1, 2018), for the entire year there is seven trading Sundays.

This year, the first trading Sunday was in January (28/01). When is the next one? According to the schedule it will be March 24i.e. a week before Easter (March 31).

The remaining shopping Sundays in 2024 fall out: April 28, June 30, August 25, December 15, December 22.
