The founder and main shareholder of the Polsat Plus Group, Zygmunt Solorz, in a letter to employees dated Thursday, September 26, announced actions that will result in dismissal of his children from the governing bodies of the group companies.

The fact that such a letter was sent was confirmed to PAP by Polsat Plus Group spokesman Tomasz Matwiejczuk on Thursday.

In his letter, Zygmunt Solorz writes that he recently realized that “Involving my children in managing companies at this stage does not contribute to greater stability in companies or to building a better future” Therefore, as he wrote, he decided to change this situation and “take action to dismiss my children from the authorities of the relevant companies in the coming weeks.”

Zygmunt Solorz’s son, Tobias Solorz, is the vice-chairman of the supervisory board of the Polsat Plus Group. The chairman of the council is Zygmunt Solorz himself. The second son, Piotr Żak, is the president of Telewizja Polsat. Solorz also has a daughter, Aleksandra Żak.

Solorz’s children raise the alarm about the threat to his companies

In a letter to the Group’s employees, Zygmunt Solorz confirms that his children sent a letter to the management and supervisory boards of the Group’s companies, which was made public. “Gazeta Wyborcza” wrote about the letter on Thursday. According to her, Zygmunt Solorz’s three children write to the managers of the businessman’s four most important companies that the well-being of these companies is threatened by people who want to take control of the business.

According to the newspaper, in the letter Solorz’s sons and daughter inform that contact with their father has been difficult for a long time due to illness and that they are currently not sure where he is. Further, as “GW” writes, Solorz’s children warn the management staff to be careful in accepting orders given by people whose recently acquired rights in this area may be questionable, and to refrain from signing documents whose legality they cannot be sure of. They also recommend caution when making decisions regarding an entity called TiVi Foundation from Liechtenstein. This entity is the largest shareholder of the Polsat Plus Group, through the TiVi Foundation Zygmunt Solorz controls almost 60.5 percent. company shares.

According to the newspaper, Zygmunt Solorz’s children are “in a fierce dispute with Justyna Kulka, his current partner and Solorz’s wife since March.” Justyna Kulka is also Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Polsat Group.

The Polsat Plus Group, through the Cyfrowy Polsat Group, controls, among others, 100 percent telecommunications companies Polkomtel and Netia, as well as Telewizja Polsat and the Interia Group.
