This Thursday, May 1, the government of President Gustavo Petro will be the proposal for popular consultation before the Senate of the Republic after the sinking of the labor reform.
After the text with the 12 questions is based, the Senate will decide in a vote, which will be carried out in the coming weeks, if it gives the green light to the citizen participation mechanism and the Colombians are summoned to the polls.
In the edition of this Tuesday of De, Senator Mauricio Gómez Amín, of the Liberal Party, talked about how the panorama sees in front of that vote.
Gómez said that, currently, he sees the “very tight issue”, because the government is “moving” since his colleagues could change positions.
“The theme today seems tied. I see a government moving a lot. Without saying names, I see senators, who two weeks ago had said that they did not vote, thinking about it, and some changing the vote “Said Gómez, who said he will vote ‘no’ to the initiative.
“I see the complex issue, difficult for that vote. Hopefully Congress understands that we are talking about the legitimacy, the institutionality of one of the branches of public power in Colombia and, that, we must take care of it more than anything,” said the senator.
The congressman questioned that there are no resources for the subsidies of my house already and for Icetex loans, but for consultation.
“Incherence reaches limits before seen. There is no money here, but for consultation. For example, a person of strata 1.2 and 3 is going to buy housing and wants to acquire the subsidy of my house and tell him that there are no resources,” he said.
